Service Objectives

Supported Hostel: to provide home living residential service to people with disabilities who are capable of semi-independent living; limited assistance from staff will be provided in their daily living; they can develop their potential, become more independent in their living, raise their capability, improve the quality of life and integrate into the society.

Residential Respite Service: to provide short term residential care service for people with disabilities in the community so that their family members or carers can have a planned short break or may attend to their personal business. The service aims to make life for those involved in routine care less stressful and more stimulating.
Target Group
-
Supported Hostel: people aged 15 or above, capable of semi-independent living, actively occupied in employment or day training who are in need or residential service due to social issues

Residential Respite Service: people aged 6 or above with mental disabilities living in the community
Scope of Service

Supported Hostel: to provide the disabled with home living residence and meal service; to provide guidance and counselling during household keeping and daily activities; to organise various activities so that they can have opportunities to develop an independent life and skills in relation to socialisation, communication and decision making. Their social and recreational needs are fulfilled as they can keep in touch with their family members and keep in contact with the community.

Residential Respite Service: provide short-term residential care service for people with disabilities in the community.
Facilities

Bedroom, living room/ dining room, kitchen and laundry, exercise equipment, electronic game console, karaoke, etc.
Fees
-
Supported Hostel: HK$897 per month (50% disabled adults) or HK$977 per month (100% disabled adults or Disability Allowance recipients) and a sundry fee of HK$80 per month

Residential Respite Service: HK$51 per day (with meals)

Fees may be charged for individual activities.
Application Procedures

Supported Hostel: referred by social workers to the Central Referral System for Rehabilitation Services of the Social Welfare Department.

Residential Respite Service: apply directly to the hostel, or referred by social workers at medical social services, integrated family service centres, special schools or rehabilitation social service organisations.
Withdrawal Procedures
